A Boy Lost Too Soon: Edo Police Warn Against Unsupervised Outdoor Adventures

The Edo State Police Command has reported the recovery of a young boy’s body from the Ikpoba River

an incident suspected to be a drowning. Discovered on November 17th, 2025, the child’s identity remains unknown, and the body has been taken for medical examination. Officers are actively investigating the circumstances that led to the tragedy.

 

In response, the police are urging parents and guardians to heighten supervision as the dry season brings increased outdoor exploration among children. They remind families of the dangers lurking around rivers and isolated areas, encouraging regular safety discussions at home.

 

Parents whose children are missing and fit the description are asked to contact the New Benin Division immediately. The Command reassures the public of its dedication to safety and encourages timely reporting of any suspicious or urgent matters.
