UNGA80: Kano Governor secures school feeding, investment deals

Gov. Abba  Yusuf of Kano State has announced new opportunities for school feeding programmes, health interventions, and foreign investments.

This followed the state’s participation at the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80) High-Level Week in New York.

This is contained in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa in Kano on Wednesday.

The Governor was represented by Emir Sanusi II and the Director-General of Kan-Invest, Muhammad  Halliru.

He explored collaborations with global partners, including Kenyan entrepreneur, Wawira Njiru, founder of Food4Education, to access African Development Bank’s funds for school feeding programmes.

The Kano delegation participated in key events, including the Global Compact: Unstoppable Africa and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Goalkeepers Event, showcasing the state’s investment potential and development needs.

Yusuf said the engagements demonstrated his administration’s commitment to positioning Kano as Nigeria’s leading investment hub.

He added that a five-year multi-sectoral investments strategic plan would soon be unveiled to attract investors and boost revenue.( NAN)
