The process which is spearheaded by the Acting chairman of the party Chief Austin Edibe is part of effort to rebrand the party in the state.

The process commenced in the state with visits to critical stakeholders of the party by the acting chairman alongside members of the State Working Committee (SWC).

Edibe said the consultation process is aimed at drawing from the wealth of experience of strategic stakeholders as he sets out to reposition the party ahead of 2027 and beyond.

He regretted that the few mistakes made by the party has almost eroded its achievements in the state since 1999 and promised that with the corporation of all, the party will bounce back.

“We must not be downcast with our present opposition status in the state, Cross River remains a PDP state.

“Not only does our past records attest to this, we are holding on well in the northern senatorial district of the state even with the immediate past Governor being from there.

“All we need to do in the remainder two district is to see how we can galvanize our members, reconcile the perceived aggrieved ones and set to process to reposition the party.

“Our focus will not just be south and central senatorial districts, even the north where we seems to have held sway we be part of the total repositioning and rebranding of the PDP in Cross River.

“With these visits, we are elated and hopeful that we have commenced the process of healing that will ultimately take us back to the good old days of the PDP in the state,” he stated.

Stakeholders visited by the party as part of its reconciliation and consultation process includes former Deputy Governor of the state, Efiok Cobham, former Chairman state PDP, Ntufam Ekpo Okon, former Chairman of Calabar South Local Government, Mr Bassey Ekefre, and the convener of PDP Elders Forum in Cross River, Mrs Eno Oqua.
