Golf took center stage at the Edo State Government House, not for competition, but for connection and community. The Lady’s Division of the Benin Golf Section, known for their grace on the greens, brought a message of empowerment, mentorship, and unity to the Office of the First Lady during a recent visit.
During the heartfelt exchange, discussions focused on using golf as a vehicle to uplift women and inspire the younger generation. The Lady Golfers highlighted the shared values between their sport and ongoing initiatives in the state particularly those aimed at health, mental wellness, and youth development.
Leader of the Lady Golfers, Mrs. Stella Ajayi, reflected on golf’s transformative impact: “Beyond the swing and the scorecard, golf teaches discipline, builds friendships, and nurtures confidence. We believe in passing these values on.”
The visit was also a call for collaboration with hopes of launching joint initiatives that foster mentorship, support vulnerable groups, and amplify women’s voices across Edo State.
Capping off the occasion was a heartfelt invitation to the prestigious 30th BCGS Ladies Open Tournament a symbolic stage where sport and service come together, and where women continue to lead, inspire, and uplift.
