Edo State Strengthens Efforts to Empower People with Visible Disabilities Through Strategic Collaboration

The Director General of Edo State Migration Agency (EDMA), Hon. Chief Lucky Agazuma, has revealed plans to partner with the Network for the Advancement of People with Visible Disabilities (NAPVID) to create empowerment opportunities that promote self-reliance among individuals with visible disabilities.

During a meeting held at his Benin City office with NAPVID’s Executive Director, Mr. Melody Omosah Esq., and staff, Hon. Agazuma praised the state government’s commitment under Governor Monday Okpebholo to addressing the needs of persons with physical challenges. He assured that EDMA is dedicated to working closely with NAPVID to enhance the welfare and support systems for its members.

Hon. Agazuma also announced that EDMA will conduct an assessment visit to NAPVID’s facilities, demonstrating the agency’s readiness to provide targeted assistance aimed at improving the lives of people with visible disabilities across Edo State.

Mr. Omosah, representing NAPVID, called for strengthened cooperation between the two organizations to maximize empowerment initiatives. He emphasized the importance of inclusive governance, urging that persons with physical disabilities be considered for key roles in government activities and decision-making processes.

He further commended Governor Okpebholo’s administration for its people-centered policies and lauded the rapid infrastructural progress achieved within a short period of governance.

This collaboration marks a significant advancement in Edo State’s commitment to inclusivity and the socio-economic empowerment of persons with disabilities, fostering a more equitable and supportive society.
