The Edo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Jarrett Tenebe, has paid glowing tributes to the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo expressing deep appreciation for the governor’s impact on his political journey and personal growth.
In a heartfelt Easter message, Tenebe described the governor as “the best human politician” he has ever met, stating that the governor’s leadership and support pulled him from political obscurity to national relevance.
“You are going up, up,” Tenebe declared enthusiastically. “After eight years as governor, you will become Vice President and eventually President. May the good Lord continue to lift you.”
He emotionally recounted how the governor’s election rekindled his political fortunes at a time when he was at his lowest, linking his current status in Nigerian politics to the governor’s uplifting hand. “If not for you, how would I have gotten this relevance I have in Nigeria today? I get emotional most times when I’m with you,” he added.
Reflecting on his roots and mentors, Tenebe acknowledged the role of late Chief Tony Anenih in his political formation, noting that the Esan people remain one of the most appreciative he has encountered. “Chief Tony Anenih built me to a level, and now you have picked me up from there.”
Tenebe pledged unwavering loyalty to the governor, declaring that his allegiance would remain “100% from now till death do us part,” a promise he said he had earlier made to the late Anenih. He also affirmed his belief in the governor’s developmental vision for the state, stating that they share the same political ideology rooted in growth and progress.
“Please, Governor, anytime I go wrong, draw me close and correct me,” he appealed, adding that he aspires to emulate the governor’s calmness even when provoked.
The message, delivered during the Easter celebrations, has stirred reactions across political circles, with many noting the emotional depth of Tenebe’s loyalty and admiration.
