Members of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s kitchen cabinet have resumed a fresh lobby for the position of the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, following the shocking resignation of Ajuri Ngelale
The kitchen cabinet of President Tinubu, predominantly populated by Yoruba of Lagos and Ogun extraction, for several months, frustrated Ngelale, a minority from the South South, also seen as an inexperienced spokesman.
Bayo Onanuga, from Ogun State, often seen as a tribal lord and a media anarchist, is lobbying to replace Ngelale, who was forced to step down but cited medical issues as his excuse.
Onanuga, who The Postcard has gathered has secured the blessings of the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila and the First Lady, Remi Tinubu, is seen within the corridors of power as a baggage, who will create more problems for Tinubu.
Tinubu, who has faced serious criticisms in the last few days, following the insensitive jerking up of fuel price, it was gathered, is looking outside the South West, to appoint a new spokesman.
Daniel Bwala from Borno State, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz from Kano State, Tunde Ramhan, and Yusuf Alli of The Nation Newspaper are among those on the President’s top list.
It is unclear when a new appointment will be made and if the President will spring a new surprise and appoint an underdog to fill the shoes left by Ngelale.
